From the centre of Keswick by the mini roundabout follow signs to Borrowdale. After about 50 metres turn right by Booths supermarket, then take your second right. There are limited car parking spaces at the rugby club which will be charged at £5.00. Should you wish to leave your car all day, there is no extra charge. Cars left in the car park past midnight on the day of the race will be liable to the “ANPR” scheme.

Entries

There is a limit of 1,000 entries. Closing date for online entries is 7pm on Friday 18th September 2026 (7pm on Wednesday 9th September 2026 to include your free t-shirt and option to purchase a commemorative medal). On the day entries are welcome but with a £5.00 surcharge and will not include a t-shirt. YOUR RACE NUMBER WILL HAVE YOUR TIMING CHIP EMBEDDD IN IT. YOU MUST WEAR YOUR RACE NUMBER ON THE FRONT OF YOUR VEST, HORIZONTALLY, AND IT MUST NOT BE COVERED, FOLDED OR CUT. If you do not adhere to these rules you will be liable to disqualification. Your race number will be available for pick up the afternoon before and on the day of the race from the rugby club (surnames, alphabetically).  Each on-line entrant before 9th September includes a Keswick Half Marathon t-shirt on the day – to remind you of your fabulous achievement!

Start of the race; 11am

The race starts in Portinscale (just beyond the footbridge) which is approximately 20 minutes’ walk from the rugby club. Please don’t leave it until the last minute! 🙂 The route to the start will be signposted and marshals will be on hand to point you in the right direction.

WARNING – THE COURSE IS NOT CLOSED TO TRAFFIC

Please be advised we cannot allow pushchairs and wheelchairs to enter the race due to the hilly nature of the course.

A lead car will be in front of the lead runner. Every junction will be marshalled so please adhere to their directions. You must keep to the RIGHT, facing on coming traffic until Grange Bridge. Thereafter runners must keep to the LEFT. Water is available at approximately 3, 6, 8 and 10.5 miles. Please may we remind you how important it is to minimise litter in the Lake District National Park. Please adhere to any advice from marshals on the route. Late starters should note that officials will not stay on station indefinitely. Any runner who has not reached Grange Bridge by 1pm (8.5 miles) will be given a choice of a lift back to the club house in a vehicle or to complete the race unaided at their own risk.

Please remember marshals CANNOT stop or re-direct traffic. Particular attention should be taken at the two roundabouts nearing the end of the race (entering Keswick).
