There are limited car parking spaces at the rugby club which will be charged at £4. Should you wish to leave your car all day, there is no extra charge. Cars left in the car park until the following day will be liable to the “Pay & Display” scheme.
There is a limit of 1000 entries. Closing date for online entries is 17th April. On the day entries will be accepted but with a £5 surcharge. YOU MUST WEAR YOUR RACE NUMBER ON THE FRONT OF YOUR VEST AND IT MUST NOT BE FOLDED OR CUT. If you do not adhere to these rules you will be liable to disqualification. Your number will be available for pick up on the day of the race from the Rugby Club Grandstand. (Surnames, alphabetically)
START OF RACE AT 11.30am
Start of race is at Portinscale (just beyond the footbridge). Approximately 20 minutes stroll to the start. Please do not leave it until the last minute and follow the signs and marshall’s instructions.
WARNING – THE COURSE IS NOT CLOSED TO TRAFFIC.
Please be advised we cannot allow push chairs and wheel chairs to enter the race due to the steepness of the course.
A lead car will be in front of the lead runner. Every junction will be marshalled so please adhere to their directions. You must keep to the RIGHT, facing on coming traffic until Grange Bridge. Thereafter runners must keep to the LEFT. Bottled water is available at approximately 3, 6, 8 and 10.5 miles. Please do not forget that the event is run entirely by volunteers, so to help please put bottles in the bins provided or stock piles as appropriate for easy collection. It is important to minimise litter in the Lake District National Park. Please adhere to any advice from marshals on the route. Late starters should note that officials will not stay on station indefinitely. Any runner who has not reached Grange Bridge by 13:30h (8.5 miles) will be given a choice of a lift back to the club house in a vehicle or to complete the race unaided at their own risk.
Please remember marshals CANNOT stop or re-direct traffic. Particular attention should be taken at the two roundabouts nearing the end of the race (entering Keswick)
We will display the results in the results section on the website.
Results will be collated by Mr Steve Ashcroft www.ukroadraces.info.
